Is it jump-scare scary or more Eery storytelling? Eery story telling.

Will I be singled out or forced to participate? Absolutely not. This is not that kind of tour. You won’t be dragged into the spotlight, made to scream, or asked to reenact your own Victorian demise. Participation is always optional.

Is it awkward if I come alone? Not at all. Solo guests are surprisingly common — and after about three minutes, everyone is too busy being intrigued, amused, or mildly unsettled to care who arrived with whom. By the end, you won’t feel alone… just pleasantly haunted.

What if I don’t believe in ghosts — will I still enjoy it? Absolutely. You don’t need to believe in ghosts to enjoy these true stories. This is history, atmosphere, psychology, and dark humour wrapped in candlelight — belief is optional. Skeptics often leave saying, _“I still don’t believe… but that was excellent!” and grinning from ear to ear._

What if it rains? We will shelter where possible but we go out rain or shine! However, in very rare circumstances, we may postpone a tour if there are Met Office, sever weather warnings. On the very rare occasion that whilst the tour is being delivered the weather becomes too severe, the decision may be taken to stop the activity and invite you back again.

Is it more history or more entertainment, & is it worth the money? A mix of 50% historical facts where you’ll learn Bath’s dark history & 50% immersive stories, atmosphere, and dark humour.

I have allergies, are the scents safe? Yes. The scents are very safe, optional, and controlled by you. You can skip any scent card without missing the story. We are 100% insured in any case.

Where exactly does it start and finish? Front entrance of Bath Abbey and finishes at Sally Lunn’s cafe.

Is there a lot of walking / hills? No, just flat streets and there are regular stops.

What if I need the toilet mid-tour? Our tour route thankfully goes past a few pubs so you can quickly nip in to use them.

Can I bring kids? Yes — older kids and teens usually love it. The stories are spooky, atmospheric, and sometimes darkly funny, but not jump-scare horror. It’s family friendly.

What if I’m late? We’ll do our best to slot you in quietly if the group hasn’t moved on yet. If we’ve already vanished into the shadows… sadly, we can’t rewind the ghosts. Please arrive 10 minutes early so the only thing chasing you is suspense, not the tour. We are very fair & will provide a free rebook if you miss us.

Will I smell bad after? No one leaves smelling like 18th-century despair. The scents are brief & fade quickly — you’ll still smell like yourself, just with better stories.
